The Center for the Arts Video Production Group has been nominated for a 2012 New York Emmy® Award for an informational video on the UB Solar Strand.
The Solar Strand is a 750-kilowatt solar-energy array designed by internationally renowned landscape architect Walter Hood and funded by a $7.5 million grant from the New York Power Authority.
The installation, with 3,200 photovoltaic (PV) panels, generates enough clean, renewable electricity to power hundreds of student apartments.
The video, “UB Solar Strand: The Vision,” was produced by the CFA video production group in collaboration with a team of UB faculty, staff and students, the New York Power Authority and key community partners.
