UB Student Receives Prestigious Clarendon Scholarship

Aaron Krolikowski, a senior who will graduate Phi Beta Kappa from the University at Buffalo this spring, has received a four-year Clarendon Scholarship from Oxford University where he plans to complete his doctor of philosophy (D.Phil.) degree. His degree will be in development studies, an interdisciplinary program that draws from the fields of economics, anthropology and political science and policy. 

Krolikowski was also a 2008 Morris K. Udall Scholar and member of UB’s Honors College and was a finalist for a 2009 Rhodes Scholarship. Read more.

Two Bulls Earn All-MAC Basketball Honors

The Mid-American Conference announced on Monday that Rodney Pierce and Greg Gamble were both named to the All-MAC men’s basketball team. Pierce was named to the first team and Gamble earned honorable mention honors.

Pierce is only the second UB player to be named to the All-MAC First Team. The junior guard had a breakout season for the Bulls. He led UB and ranked eighth in the MAC in scoring – averaging 14.7 points per game. He ranked second on the team in assists (2.2 apg) and third in rebounding (3.8 rpg). UB Men’s Basketball Coach Witherspoon Named MAC Coach of the Year

University at Buffalo men’s basketball head coach Reggie Witherspoon was named the Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year by MAC Report Online. Witherspoon took a UB squad that went 10-20 (3-13 MAC ) a season ago to 19-10 and 11-5 in the MAC this season. The Bulls earned a share of the MAC regular season title for the first time in school history. Read more.
