As I’m sure many of you know, October is breast cancer awareness months! Pink is all around us!
As a way to give back and get involved, I volunteered yesterday at the Making Strides against breast cancer walk in downtown Buffalo. It is such a nice event and it is really cool that it takes place in Niagara Square.
There are some really neat vendors at the walk, a great stage with fun music, pink cotton candy, and so much more. The event raised over $230,000, which is amazing! Buffalo has an outstanding community, and this event only further proves that. It was wonderful to see everyone come out and support such a great cause!
This was my second year volunteering at Making Strides and I originally got involved with it through the UB Against Cancer Committee (UBAC). UBAC is a club I am a member of here at UB, that works alongside the American Cancer Society in order to plan fundraisers and ultimately, the Relay for Life event at the end of the year. This is only one of so many AWESOME clubs and organizations here at the university. Think about getting involved!
Have a great week! 🙂
