Sorry it has been so long since I last blogged. I have been trying to keep it together for the past few weeks before school ends so I feel like I haven’t had a second to sit down and collect my thoughts let alone blog about them. This is the last week of school. Finals are coming up. Luckily, I have no finals, only final papers so I just have to get those turned in but otherwise my time is my own. I have a lot of things to think about, including, what will I do this summer? Where will I live? Should I move back home? etc etc etc.
To try and get my mind off these philosophical questions I participated in Oozefest! Oozefest is a annual mud volleyball tournament at UB. It is beyond fun! The local fire department stops by the mud pit (which is located behind South Lake Apartment complex) and fills it with tons and ton of water creating a giant muddy swamp. Teams compete the whole day playing volleyball against until only one team remains. I don’t think I have ever had so much fun playing in the mud. It was a task dressing for it because you have to actually duct tape your clothes on or they will be sucked into the mud. And basically everything you wear has to be thrown away because it is absolutely covered in mud. Our team lost after the first three games, but for a while we were in a winning streak. I definitely recommend playing in oozefest at least once before you graduate. Its an experience you will never forget.
It makes me sad to think that I wont be able to participate in things like oozefest once I graduate. I am slowly realizing the becoming a “real person” in the real world is not as fun as being a college student.
